neo neo has sent you a new message
Blog | Profile | Nov 10, 2006 11:19 PM

uh, timmy are you a lawyer? i ask because i am a lawyer and have been in practice for 11 years and, oh yeah did i mention that i concentrated in constitutional law? you know about that right? and public international law? that was another one of my areas of concentration. not that i need to tell you. you clearly have a grip on all of that, right?

i saw the keith oberman piece you were talking about. not impressed: especially when i know that you and he and everyone who egged on your post would be the first to order muslims and foreigners like me rounded up if it meant losing one hair on your precious head or not getting your hot chocolate latte with extra whip at Starbucks.

why don't you armchair liberals grow up? so are you living on welfare or off mom and dad? look, i know that if you're not liberal when you're young you don't have a heart.  but if you can't get over yourself then you obviously don't have a brain. which are you?

Wow!  :-)

    > neo has sent you a new messageI am duly impressed by your original identity. > uh, timmy are you a lawyer? Now why would you say a rude thing like that?> i ask because i am a lawyer and have been in practice for 11 years and, oh yeah did i > mention that i concentrated in constitutional law? you know about that right? and > public international law? that was another one of my areas of concentration. Well, as a lawyer, you probably recognize a lot of cool latin terms like "argumentum ad verecundiam"> not that i need to tell you. you clearly have a grip on all of that, right?Should I know you? have we met? Did I spill a drink on you in a bar? Or perhaps I threw up on your shoes outside a club? I've puked on a lot of people so maybe you should send a photo. > i saw the keith oberman piece you were talking about. I have a lot of Olberman vids on my blog so you'll have to be more specific. > not impressed: especially when i know that you and he and everyone who egged> on your post would be the first to order muslims and foreigners like me rounded up> if it meant losing one hair on your precious head or not getting your hot > chocolate latte with extra whip at Starbucks.Well… probably not if you're cute. > why don't you armchair liberals grow up?You first. > so are you living on welfare or off mom and dad? Dude, do you even READ my blog? If you did, you'd know I live on welfare AND off mom and dad. > look, i know that if you're not liberal when you're young you don't have a > heart. but if you can't get over yourself then you obviously don! 9;t have > a brain. which are you? You're impressive use of clichés has left me speechless. Bravo.

    dear timmy:

howard dean and i were talking
yesterday about your righteous reply to neo. i noticed that you resorted to
name calling in your reply. nice touch. that’s
how we won the midterm elections too.

and don’t you back down either: you were right. we
are the chosen ones. if anyone disagrees with us they are closed minded. that’s
called freedom of thought and neo must obey!

so anyway, with your command of latin and ability to sound
off about things you know nothing about, not to mention the way you criticize without
actually doing anything and full on snarking ability, rahm emmanuel and jesse
jackson think you would be a terrific asset to the party. i agree.
in closing, way to defend your self-indulgent blog. neo will think twice before messing with you
    again.

    oh yes, howard
wanted me to remind you that clichés get to be clichés because of their kernel
of truth. you know, like what neo said regarding your brainless left-wing
    nutter-butter sandwich of a post.

    sincerely,
    nancy

an armchair liberal is someone possibly like your parents — you look a little too young — who screams at all of the conservatives on TV after they they drive home in their extra-expensive, environmentally friendly, Hummers from their high-powered jobs. but they feel that they are saving the planet from their living rooms because they give to the right (not right you understand but right) causes and fill in the little oval when howard dean tells them to. that's an armchair liberal.and these days, you'd have to add blogging in the middle of the night too.

It's not great, but it's cheaper than driving. And it's one less car on the road (go me!). I have City Carshare for the weekends. CCS is truly a good deal if you live in San Francisco. I highly recommend it. but they feel that they are saving the planet from their living rooms It's not my living room the world needs saving from, it's my bedroom. Rawwwr! because they give to the right (not right you understand but right) causes and fill in the little oval when howard dean tells them to.I'm afraid I don't understand this sentence fragment. Dean doesn't talk to me any more than the lamp post. that's an armchair liberal.Just out of curiosity, where would your armchair philosophy fit here? and these days, you'd have to add blogging in the middle of the night too.No fair. I got reaaaaaly drunk last night and woke up at 3:45 with a horrible hangover. What do ya do when you can't sleep and you're in pain and you're still a little drunk and it's the middle of the night ? Well, I blog. It's not exactly constructive but it's better than staring blankly into the toilet waiting to barf.

you wrote just out of curiosity, where would your armchair philosophy fit here? actually most of that wikipedia article (you should really be looking at the American Liberalism piece, not the one on liberalism as a whole) constitutes the position of social libertarians; a group closer to republicans on issues like less government, lower taxes, personal freedom, government out of the bedroom, etc. this is the opposite of what democrats have become: big government and cradle-to-grave social welfare systems. if you think those are good ideas find out how things are going in France and the USSR … I mean the Soviet Union … I mean the Russian Federation … I mean just look at North Korea, ok?

if you're an armchair liberal, what does that indicate about your other furniture? is your ottoman a kneejerk independent? is your credenza a big "green" supporter?
why can't i get a liberal armchair! i prefer clutter that leans left…

neo, if you had even a shred of self-confidence you wouldn't feel the need to troll and wank off in other people's blogs. now get off the internet and find something more constructive to do — in the very least, don't involve six apart staff.

you wrote just out of curiosity, where would your armchair philosophy fit here? actually most of that wikipedia article (you should really be looking at the American Liberalism piece, not the one on liberalism as a whole) constitutes the position of social libertarians; a group closer to republicans on issues like less government, lower taxes, personal freedom, government out of the bedroom, etc. this is the opposite of what democrats have become: big government and cradle-to-grave social welfare systems.Government shrank to its smallest size under Clinton and swelled to its largest ever under Bush. We got the biggest surplus in US history under Clinton and the biggest deficit in world history under Bush. The higher deficit will mean higher taxes, period. The Dems are going to raise them on the people who make the most money, i.e., eliminating the Paris Hilton tax exemption (called by the "Death Tax" by the Republicans). Personal freedom? It was this Republican congress that brought us the patriot act. Government out of the bedroom? It's the Republicans who brought out all these anti-gay ballot propositions, not the Democrats. And the Terri Schaivo mess was a Republican mess from beginning to end. You want to live in a world without social services? Move to Mexico, buddy. Promoting the general welfare of her citizens is enshrined in our constitution. And besides, I like the idea of a social safety net in case shit hits the fan and I find myself out of a job. I also like the idea of joining the rest of the civilized world and getting health care for all of us, not just the rich and fortunate (I have good health insurance myself, but would be willing to pay slightly more in taxes to get everyone was covered). And I read that article on American Liberalism. Yeah, that works just fine for me as well. Quotations by the founders of American liberalismThomas Paine wrote, "Society in every state is a blessing, but Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil." [9]John Adams wrote, "Liberty cannot be preserved without a general knowledge among the people, who have a right… and a desire to know; but besides this, they have a right, an indisputable, unalienable, indefeasible, divine right to that most dreaded and envied kind of knowledge, I mean of the characters and conduct of their rulers." [10]Samuel Adams wrote, "Driven from every other corner of the earth, freedom of thought and the right of private judgment in matters of conscience direct their course to this happy country as their last asylum." [11]Patrick Henry wrote, "That religion, or the duty which we owe to our Creator, and the manner of discharging it, can be directed only by reason and conviction, not by force or violence,; and therefore all men are equally entitled to the free exercise of religion, according to the dictates of conscience; and that it is the mutual duty of all to practice Christian forbearance, love, and charity towards each other. [12]Thomas Jefferson wrote:"Were it left to me to have a government with no newspapers, or newspapers with no government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter." [13]"Experience declares that man is the only animal which devours his own kind; for I can apply no milder term… to the general prey of the rich upon the poor." [14]"If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be." [15]
